Background
The Buddy Up Workshop is a four week workshop. This workshop is designed to target the following areas: identifying bullying
behaviour, learning strategies to use when targeted by a bully, helping a friend who is the target of a bully, and talking
to an adult about bullying.
To encourage optimum learning this workshop is designed to include introverted and extroverted
children with varieties of learning styles including visual, verbal, and kinesthetic. For example units include activities
like filling out tables which involve verbal class discussion, drawing, and reading stories.
These learning techniques
reflect the workshops philosophy which embraces learning through experience with the support of the five senses—sight, sound,
taste, smell, and touch.
Students will learn about bullying through material from books, testimonials, mentorship,
and then apply this knowledge to activities like drawing, quizzes, activity books, and role playing.
